aI have been a teacher for forty five years, working with children of all ages - from reception pupils to college students.

I taught at York College for Girls for ten years; and at Chapter House, Queen Ethelburga's College for five years. I have also taught at other schools in and around York, including: Robert Wilkinson School, Carr Infants School and Escrick County Primary School. I have been a private tutor since 2004.

I have a Master's degree in Education from the University of Leeds and studied with the Dyslexia Institute at the University of York to gain a Post Graduate Certificate in Literacy and Dyslexia in 2004/5. I am an Approved Teacher of the British Dyslexia Association. I am currently studying for a Post Graduate Certificate in Numeracy and Dyscalculia.

I am also a licensed CogMed coach, and a British Psychological Society registered tester of educational ability and attainment. I have Enhanced CRB clearance to work with children.

I have three adult sons, one of whom is a successful dyslexic musician
